I HAVE MOVED.
Visit www.lifein553.com for new posts and archives.

I am still in the midst of figuring out how to redirect you good people automatically. Meanwhile, do update those links!

Why did I move? … Free things are worth how much you paid for them. I’m loving the freedom of the wordpress platform.

Minced Meat Noodle (substitute for bah chor mee)

31 March, 2008 · No Comments

This is my bah chor mee (minced pork vinegar noodle) substitute.
It doesn’t have vinegar nor mushrooms nor lard and I substituted pork with beef, but who cares, it’s spicy!

Afterthought: This tastes more like 杂浆面。

Marinade for 200g of mined meat:

1 tsp honey

1/2 tsp dark or light soy sauce

3tbs water

1 tsp sesame oil

1 rounded tbs korean gochujang

suitable amount of minced garlic and ginger

lots of pepper

Marinate for 5-10mins then fry with sesame oil. Yum(:

You can add any thing you like really, I think dried chinese mushrooms will be lovely, but my fridge was almost empty when I made this.

Portobello, Edinburgh’s Seaside

29 March, 2008 · 2 Comments

A Craft and Design Fair organised by Edinburgh Craft Fairs was going on in the Town Hall, but the highlight of the day was our walk along the beautiful seaside, away from the hustle and bustle of the city. Love Portobello. We’re going back for a picnic once it gets warmer. (:
